Where do gems and fragments come from?

Mining is the main source: Auto Mining and the Golden Mattock only drop specific gems, fragments and boxes. Draki bosses also have gems and fragments in their loot.

The server intro says gems and fragments can roll an accessory directly, weighted by importance. Rare pieces have low odds and common ones show up more often.

Short answer

On GMRGame, gems and fragments drop from mining and roll a random accessory or unique weapon weighted by rarity. Right-click one to see its drop list; anything you highlight there gets auto-sold when it comes out of the generator.

What does each gem drop?

The Chaotic drop list covers 40 boxes and 1654 rewards in total. Here is how many different rewards each gem can roll:

The Black Gem window, for example, is full of armor pieces, earrings, rings and belts. Gems lean towards accessories and armor.

How to set up auto-sell

  1. Right-click a gem or fragment to open its drop window.
  2. Click the items you want sold so they are highlighted in yellow.
  3. Open them at the generator; any highlighted item that drops is sold automatically. The guide uses Fragment of Rage as the example.

Select All and Unselect All at the bottom toggle the whole list at once. If you're opening stacks of gems, marking the junk up front saves a lot of inventory space.

Boxes and the Fragment Unique Box

Some boxes from the Chaotic list (number of rewards)
BoxRewards
Mining Box 69
Gold Box 57
Diamond Box 50
Legend Chest 39
TIER-2 Weapon Box 33
Unique Box 24
Chest Unique Box 18
Fragment Unique Box 16
Gem Unique Box 15

The Fragment Unique Box you could buy with real money has been removed, so unique accessories now come from opening gems and fragments.

Why some junk drops are still useful

To make some of the weaker gem, fragment and box drops usable, their INT scaling was trimmed; the site names Scorching Staff and Hell Blood. The unique bonus system also buffs a few weapons nobody used to pick.

FAQ

How do I see what a gem can drop?
Right-click the gem or fragment in game and the reward window opens. Use the arrows if the list runs over more than one page.
Can you buy the Fragment Unique Box in the PUS?
No, the paid version is gone. It still shows up in the Chaotic list as a box with 16 rewards.
Do gems drop weapons?
Gem windows like Black Gem are mostly armor and accessories. For weapons, fragments such as Fragment of Rage have the fuller list.
Do gems transfer from the Academy?
No. Scrolls, gems and MS are left behind in the Academy transfer, so they had to be used before it ended.
